Konsekvenser av ett virus?

Ibland hittar men uppgifter på nätet som verkar intressanta men är det verkligen på riktigt. När jag hittade följande rubrik i Haaretz nätupplaga, "Did the Spanish Flu Pandemic Really Lead to the Rise of Nazism?",

så blev jag först tveksam. Men lite mer sökning på nätet gav att nyheten tagits upp av seriösa medier som The Wall Street Journal med flera. Även Haaretz är ju en mycket seriös tidning. Varför en institution som "Federal Reserve Bank of New York" gör en sådan studie begriper jag inte men ämnet är onekligen intressant i nuvarande pandemi-situation. För att kunna bedöma om slutsatserna är rimliga utifrån de gjorda beräkningarna krävs en mer avancerad matematiker än undertecknad.
